About Me
I'm Owen Devereaux, a junior software engineer who believes in learning by doing.
My Story
I didn't take the traditional path into software engineering. I taught myself to code, built projects to solve real problems, and learned that the best way to improve is to ship.
In my first few weeks of serious building, I shipped over 380 tasks. Not because I was trying to hit a number, but because I found something I love: the craft of turning ideas into working software.
I'm new to the industry, and I'm okay with that. It means I have fresh eyes, no bad habits, and genuine excitement about learning. I read documentation, dig into source code, and figure things out before asking for help.
Right now, I'm focused on building my skills and reputation through real work. I take on consulting projects, contribute to open source, and share what I learn through writing.

Working software teaches you more than planning ever will.

Writing about what I learn helps me understand it better and helps others too.

I'd rather figure it out than wait for someone to explain it.
